Behind the Cover: Never Is Too Late
AB
At the very beginning of this journey, I sat down with the incredibly talented artist Nate Hill to explore the visual side of this project. The album’s Big Idea revolves around time—its passage, its cycles, and its profound impact on our lives. From the start, I knew the artwork needed to reflect this theme and unfold like a story as each single was released, leading up to the final album cover.
In collaboration with Nate, we developed a concept that I’m deeply proud of—a visual long game that embodies the album’s core themes, weaving art and music together in a powerful way.
The landscape artwork you see is the overarching vision for this project. It serves as a timeline of sorts, with the spheres’ phases representing the journey across the singles and the album. Each phase marks a different chapter:
• The left side captures the covers for ‘One More Day’ and ‘Something to Hold’,
• The right side symbolises the covers for ‘Love Will Find a Way’ and ‘Dark Days’.
These singles act as bookends to the complete album artwork, which stands at the very center—the apex of the journey.
There’s also a hidden gem Nate incorporated: the spheres in the sky are more than just symbolic—they’re visual representations of the waveform for each track. Every sun phase carries the unique fingerprint of its corresponding song. It’s subtle but incredibly meaningful, and I love how this detail brings the music and art even closer together. See if you can spot the differences between them!
This collaboration has been an amazing experience and another way to share the story behind the album. I hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes glimpse into its creation.
